   Welcome to the Alt-CPU List
By John Carcich

Welcome to the Alt-CPU List, an unmoderated international forum whose primary focus is the discussion and promotion of alternative, non-Intel, pc processors, AMD, Cyrix, others, their evolution, performance, and features. Discussion of Intel processors is not banned however and the "competition" is the subject of constant and considerable review.

While the primary focus is on processors, the List allows discussion of all aspects of the pc computer, software and hardware alike, albeit requesting that those subjects be labeled as Off Topic simply for purposes of filtering. Discussion of all aspects includes requests for solving individual operational problems of all kinds and the many helpful responses that ensue.

Being unmoderated ensures that your question will reach all List members, including professionals whose personal experiences and expertise cover building systems to operating networks, a wide range of experience. And it is this one on one and group dialogue which is a very distinguishing feature of the List. This concept and execution of mutual aid has inevitably led to a sense of friendship and community. The List has become like a family.

So browse around the site, learn some more about this unique list, and see if you'd like to become a member. Your talents and experience will be appreciated, as you choose to volunteer them, or if you are just entering the pc world the Alt-CPU List can provide a learning experience and the help you need from time to time. All welcome.
